None of it has to be perfect. Send what you have and your quote will say if anything else is needed.

  • Your layout or floor plan. A marked-up PDF or even a hand sketch works.
  • Photos or video of your process. Collectors, mills, conveyors, and anywhere dust settles.
  • Your Safety Data Sheets for every combustible material you handle.
  • Dust test results (Kst, Pmax, MEC, MIE) if you have them.
  • Your previous DHA if this is an update or revalidation.
  • Someone on your team who can walk the floor with a phone for a live video call.

About PE seals NFPA 660 requires your DHA to be performed by a qualified person. It does not require a professional engineer’s seal, and the standard’s annex notes that credentials like PE, CSP, or CIH do not by themselves qualify someone to lead a DHA. If your AHJ or insurer asks for a sealed report anyway, your PE reviews the report, the revisions they request are made at our hourly rate, and your PE seals it. Tell us on your intake so it is in your quote from the start.
Who this is not for

Better you hear it now than after your deposit.

  • You need a sealed engineering design. A DHA is analysis. It identifies hazards and recommends fixes. It is not a stamped design package.
  • You need your report this week. A real DHA takes weeks. If your deadline is days away, we will tell you that on the first call.
  • You want the cheapest template report you can find. Your DHA is built from your facility, not copied from someone else’s.

What you will want to know before you start.

Can a DHA really be done remotely?
For most facilities, yes. With your layout, photos, Safety Data Sheets, and a live video walkthrough, a qualified person can build a thorough picture of your process. If something in your facility needs eyes on it in person, your quote will say so and include it.
What does a DHA cost?
Most single-facility DHAs run $15,000 to $20,000+. Your exact price depends on your facility: how many process areas and pieces of equipment are in scope, how many buildings, whether your dust has been tested, and how complete your documents are. That is why you get a fixed price from your intake instead of a guess. Your quote is typically back within two business days.
How long does it take?
Most studies finish in 4 to 6 weeks from your deposit and complete documents. Small, simple facilities can be faster. Large facilities and long revision rounds can take longer, and your quote will give you a realistic date.
When is the deposit due, and is it refundable?
Your deposit is due when you approve your quote, and it is non-refundable. It reserves your place on the schedule, and your study starts once your approval and deposit are both in. The deposit amount and the payment schedule for the balance are on your quote.
Do I need my dust tested first?
Not before you request a quote. If you have test results, send them. If you do not, your quote will say whether testing is needed for your study and how it fits into your schedule.
Do I need a PE-sealed DHA?
NFPA 660 does not require one. It requires a qualified person. If your AHJ or insurer asks for a seal, your PE reviews the report, the revisions they request are billed hourly, and your PE seals it.
We already have a DHA. Do we need a new one?
Your DHA has to be reviewed at least every five years, and also whenever your process changes. A new material, a modified line, or a relocated collector restarts the question no matter what the calendar says. If yours is older than five years or your process has changed, choose the update option on your intake.
Do you work in my state?
Yes. DHAs are available in all 50 states. Remote studies make location a non-issue for most facilities.
